In 2009, Yogi Baba Prem unveiled a sphatika
Shiva lingam for elevation of consciousness. The Lingam was
acquired via donations many years ago, and has been carefully kept
until an important time to reveal the lingam to the world. Yogi
Baba Prem stated, “This Shiva lingam is important for the world, but
particularly for the eastern coast of the United States. It will be
a healing lingam, as well. We welcome all sincere seekers and
students of spirituality to join us on this important journey of
elevation in consciousness.”
Basic information on the Lingam.
The sphatika Shiva lingam is over 30 pounds, is
14 inches high and the base circumference is 22 inches.
Sphatikam lingams are considered sacred to
Shiva. Shiva, in Hinduism, represents divine consciousness. The
sphatika lingam will be a beacon for spiritual aspirants, serving the
eastern United States, and especially the southeast region.
Traditional benefits:
Traditionally, offering vibhuti to a sphatika
lingam reduces negative karma. Offering select mantras destroys
impurities from the mind. In ancient teachings, it was taught that
chanting special mantras with vibhuti, one obtained tremendous
merit. Applying the vibhuti to the forehead, the destiny of an
individual could be altered for the better.
Traditionally, it was taught that chanting
special mantras 108 times while offering vibhuti could bring about
cures. There are numerous other healing and personal growth
qualities associated with the sphatika Shiva lingam, as well.
Puja performed to a spatika lingam can enhance
ones confidence and power. Mantra siddhi or perfection of any
particular mantra can be more easily obtained when chanted before
the sphatika Lingam.

Current activities.
Currently the lingam is going through a lengthy
preparation phase, following traditional teachings of Sanatana
Dharma.
Viewing by the public is currently limited, but
appointments can be scheduled to visit during a puja or other
program for the lingam. Currently Monday’s are most auspicious, but
a schedule will be created on the most auspicious days to visit the
lingam.
