Mung Beans and Rice
This is almost an Indian staple food. Yogi's and Yogini's
love mung beans and rice.
It is very nutritious and easy to make. It is not spicy
and is nourishing to the digestive system from a yogic point of
view.
Ingredients:
4 cups water
1 cup Mung beans
1 cup basmati rice
A pinch of salt
Ghee (optional)
Tumeric (optional)
Directions:
Put 4 cups of water in a pan with the Mung beans, boil for 20
minutes. Add the rice and boil for an additional 20 minutes.
Serve in a bowl.
Serve hot, and you may add 1/2 teaspoon on top of the serving.
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric can be added as well when
serving. Mix ghee and turmeric into mung beans and rice
for a tasty and healthy meal.
